Preventing Coronary Heart Disease

Coronary heart disease (CHD) is usually associated with one or more characteristics known as risk factors. A risk factor is “an aspect of personal behavior or lifestyle, an environmental exposure or an inborn or inherited characteristic, which on the basis of epidemiologic evidence is known to be associated with” the occurrence of disease. So the best way of preventing CHD is essentially Preventing or keeping away from these risk factors.

The Risk factors include:

Demographic Risk Factors
Family History of Cardiovascular Disease
Cigarette Smoking
Environmental Tobacco Smoke
High Blood Pressure
Serum Lipids and Lipoproteins
Lack of Physical Activity
Diabetes Mellitus
Obesity, Weight Distribution, and Weight Change
Reproductive Hormones
Reproductive History
Oral Contraceptives
Postmenopausal Hormone Replacement Therapy
Folate and Homocysteine

So i'm disscussing about these risk factors as well as how to stay away from them.
